Haircut Tutorial: Disconnected Undercut

I was pretty scared the first time I cut hair, but after cutting my little brother's hair for two months now it's not too bad. I started out cutting my cousin's hair a few years back and then recently cut my roommate's hair and then both my brothers'. Since I don't think it's too bad I wanted to show y'all how I do it. I've been giving my brother a disconnected undercut starting with a 0.5 on the sides and fading straight up into a square-ish shape and then I don't touch the top since we're letting it grow. Let me know if y'all like this cut.

Here's what his hair looked like before. It was getting long on the sides and he got too lazy to style it so he left a natural middle part (which is about to change).

To start, I clipped/tied his hair up to show his natural part so I knew where I had to stop cutting because his hair was too long to cut without this.

I then took the guards off the clipper and set it at the highest setting and used the bare clipper to cut around his head (going lower in the back because of the shape of his head)

I used scissors to blend the top of the sides and back so I wet his hair first.

After trimming up the top, there was still some blending to be done.

So I put the clipper guard for a 1 and set the clipper to the closest setting and blended where I stopped  cutting with the 0.5.

Then I cleaned and lined the back and sideburns with a straight razor and voila.

To style his hair, we started with some mousse/pre-styler/heat protectant, then blowdried his hair and added some paste and...

BOOM!
