#WhatIfWednesday: Flyknit Lunar Trainer Unpadded

#WhatIfWednesday is back! This week I'm sticking to my ultimate favorite kind of shoe, Flyknit. As some of you may or may not already know, Nike stopped selling their Flyknit Trainer shoe which was basically a sturdier version of the Flyknit Racer. I personally love the Trainer because it is light, looks great and has so many uses. I can even play ball in them without feeling like I'm going to roll my ankle and slide all around the court.

This weeks design fuses both the Flyknit Trainer and Flyknit Lunar. The Lunar series has been a huge success as Nike is already on its third model. The shoe is so lightweight and comfortable. They are probably one of the most comfortable shoes I own! The design takes the upper of the Flyknit Trainer and combines it with the Lunar sole. The upper is much sturdier than the Racer, as Trainers need to be strong, but I think this mixes well with the softer and more comfortable bottoms.

So how is this much different from the regular Flyknit Lunar? Let's start with the lining/padding. With the Flyknit Trainer, Nike started padding the lining because it was digging into people's ankles. I'm a bigger fan of the unpadded version because it's less bulky and looks better. The Lunar also has this padding and there's no official version of the shoe that is unpadded. That along with the sturdier upper is what makes this shoe different.

You can think of it as a Flyknit Trainer with a Lunarlon sole or think of it as a Flyknit Lunar with an unpadded Flyknit Trainer upper. I photoshopped the design to give a better understanding of what exactly this is supposed to be. Let me know what you think of the design!
